We offer an open archive of hundreds of luminous talks by M.P. Pandit on a range of subjects. He covers the major works of Sri Aurobindo in understandable language and brings forward formative guidance from The Mother. An All-India figure, it is said that M.P. Pandit reached the people of India generally, not just the scholastic class, providing a view of yoga fit for the future and an aspiring humanity. The topics covered here include The Life Divine, several sections of The Synthesis Yoga, Essays on the Gita, sections in Letters on Yoga, and of course Savitri. You’ll find them on our YouTube channel.
Two rare talks on the subject of Bhagavad Gita are also available on our YouTube channel. They were delivered in America by A.B. Purani in Sedona, home of the first Sri Aurobindo Center in the United States. Purani was a trusted ally and disciple of Sri Aurobindo before there was an Ashram, and he was a force unto himself.
Robert Kleinman’s clear recitation of Savitri and excerpts from his brilliant book, Four Faces of the Universe, are also freely available here. Dr. Kleinman received a doctorate in Cosmology from Columbia University and inspired hundreds of students while teaching philosophy.
Our links will take you to our YouTube channel where they’re collected.

M.P. Pandit
1918-1993M.P. Pandit became a member of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in 1939 upon graduation from college. Sri Pandit was the Mother’s trusted Secretary from his early years there and observed that he possessed the only organized mind in the Ashram. M.P. Pandit was a giant of karma yoga. But his service was motived by his deep love for the Mother. Love in him was key and harmonized both work and knowledge.
A tireless worker, he authored around 150 books which remain popular and relevant. At the basis of this outlook is the integrating philosophy pioneered by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. He wrote convincingly because he lived the ideals he cherished. His insights into the Veda, Vedanta, Tantra, and the Integral Yoga are priceless. And as a speaker, he was peerless. An All-India figure, his visits to Europe and especially America left profound impressions and imparted inspirations that continue to uplift seekers. He was regarded around the globe as a consummate example in writing and deed of the evolutionary principle driving humanity forward.
A.B. Purani
1894-1965A.B. Purani was a member of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram from its earliest days, having moved to Pondicherry from Gujarat in 1923 to take residence with the small group then living around Sri Aurobindo. Purani personally served Sri Aurobindo as a trusted attendant from 1938-1950. Purani prepared a biography of Sri Aurobindo, The Life of Sri Aurobindo, a pioneering work still cited today. And Purani‘s remembrances of conversations with Sri Aurobindo were eventually collected into a remarkable three-volume set called Evening Talks with Sri Aurobindo.
Purani visited the United States in 1962, and gave more than eighty luminous talks at the Crescent Moon Center in Sedona, Arizona (the first Sri Aurobindo Center in America). Many of these talks were subsequently published. Other outstanding titles in English are Sri Aurobindo’s Savitri: An Approach and A Study, Studies in Vedic Interpretation, Sri Aurobindo’s Vedic Glossary, and Sri Aurobindo: Some Aspects of His Vision. He passed away in Pondicherry in 1965.
Robert M. Kleinman
1926-2011Beyond intellectual inquiry, his spiritual practice was accelerated by Isshu Miura Roshi at the First Zen Institute of New York. He encountered the spiritual traditions of India through Swami Nikhilananda at the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center in New York City. But it was the vast and integrative vision of Sri Aurobindo that enlarged Bob’s life and purpose. A visit to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in India from 1969-1970 transformed his career.
The jewel of his life’s work is his book, The Four Faces of the Universe, which reconsiders cosmology in the round. In its pages the reader senses the shape of this magnificent and growing universe and the larger Being who manifests it.
